March 11, 2008

I asked Sydney to pick some pajamas, put them on, then brush her teeth. I guess I should have been more specific about which pajamas...

March 10, 2008

This is a street light I saw - just at dusk when it was almost dark. Through the trees against the blue sky...

March 9, 2008

A wonderful woman who is a beacon to her family and everyone who knows her turned 90 years old last weekend. The entire town turned out, as well as family from at least four states attended a party to celebrate her life and acknowlege the impact she's had on all those who know her.

March 3, 2008

Sydney got her first big-girl bed. She wasn't very thrilled about the whole thing until we "remembered" that her cousin has a big girl bed, too. Then she was so excited, and said it made her feel very happy.

February 12, 2008

The last game of the season for the Borah High School boys basketball team.

February 9, 2008

This is another b-ball game at Borah High School. I love the way the floor is so highly shined that the boy's shoes are reflected almost perfectly.

February 8, 2008

This is the captain of the Borah High School basketball team. I attended a few games to document these amazing young men.

February 19, 2008

Sydney found my headphones and sleeping mask, and decided to try them on - and immediately went to sleep listening to the music.

February 12, 2008

Sydney - kicked back in her chair talking over her plans for the day with her teddy bears.

February 8, 2008

Sydney and Daddy playing on the see-song. :-)

February 2, 2008

I couldn't decide if I liked the shoes better in gray or pink, so I thought I'd post both. I just love the look of high-heel shoes. (Maybe it's from spending too much time with my husband.) The lines and shapes are so great. If only they were easier to walk in....

February 1, 2008

These are wooden puzzles that I've never been brave enough to take apart - I just know I'll never get them back together. Those of you familiar with them will know there's a fourth to the set - that's been laying pieces for a couple years now on my bookshelf, just waiting for the inspiration to hit that will get it back together.

January 31, 2008

I had a little more time to play with my post for today - I think it turned out kinda' cool. I've had some say it's too freaky - that the eyes are scary, but I think they're so pretty...

January 30, 2008

Another picture of Sydney - she's decided that anytime I get out my camera it's time to take her picture.... I wonder she could have gotten that idea??? :-)

January 29, 2008

So, I've been continuing to work with the product photography for my sister's business - here's another shot.

January 28, 2008

... and finally... my last post of the photos I've been shooting but neglecting to get posted in my Gestures365 project. We got a little more snow last night - just enough to leave the yellow grass peeking through.

January 27, 2008

This is Nathan. I haven't seen him since he was a teeny-tiny. When I saw him and his dad again this week, I swear I would not have recognized him - what a handsome young man he's going to be - and such a sweetheart! I hope to have more photos with Nate and his daddy soon.

Detail of a non-floral arrangement.

January 25, 2008

My sister and her husband have started a new business called Creative Addictions. They make hand-turned "distractions from the humdrum of every day". Those of us not in the know have called them pens, pencils, letter openers, bottle stoppers, etc.... I've been experimenting with taking photos of some of their products - this is one of their pens.

January 24, 2008

Sydney again - she picked her own outfit and got dressed all by herself. Of course, including her favorite pink hat....

January 23, 2008

In contrast with the "soft" girls I've been shooting lately this one struck me...

January 22, 2008

Adorable little Lily - she just keeps getting cuter and cuter! The look on her face - I love it! Who says the "twos" are terrible??

January 21, 2008

Another beautiful profile....

January 20, 2008

January 19, 2008

The beautiful lines and simplicity of the profile - made even more striking by the shadow behind....

January 18, 2008

Austin is a very serious little boy.... I'm never quite sure what's going on in his head.

January 17, 2008

This is Sydney again, in her favorite pink hat. She's always a willing participant for experimenting with the camera.

January 16, 2008

Two of my favorite little girls - only not so little anymore. The window behind them made this shot under-exposed, but it made the shapes stand out - I love their cheeks and chins....

January 15, 2008

Gonzo is my sister's dog. He recently got a short haircut, and feels a little self-conscious about it, but once you see this adorable little face, you forget the funny haircut.

January 14, 2008

One of Sydney's rare relatively serious moods. She's a very happy little girl - almost always giggling. She does have her moments of "twos", and this is the beginning of one of them.

January 13, 2008

I couldn't believe her eyes - and loved the combination of the "fur" on her coat, the twinkle in her eye, and the smirk on her face.

January 12, 2008

This is Shelby - sad because she couldn't come inside and play with the kids.

January 11, 2008

A stack of wooden blocks. My baby's an architectural prodigy, if you ask me. :-)

January 10, 2008

I just loved the look on her face - have you ever seen a more FAKE fake smile??

January 9, 2008

The recent snow in Boise has made for some beautiful not-often-seen images!

January 8, 2008

We had snow again today, and Sydney and had to make sure she was all bundled up - hat, snowsuit and all - before we went outside to play.
